Stocking up on Christams present makes!!

Hey there peeps,

So are we counting the days till Christmas???

It's 38 here in the UK....

I have been collecting fabric and patterns for ages, I have to say that boys and men's patterns are a nightmare!! And not only that but men are soooo difficult to buy for.... I have a plan, make most things, it's all about the sentiment!!

So first up I have Kwik sew ~Men's boxer shorts 1672 (By Kerstin Martensson)

I got this on my trip to Manchester's Abakhan Fabrics. I know that I could have traced a pair... But why not just get a new pattern to the stash! I have never used a Kwik sew, and I'm loving the paper patterns appose to the tracing paper you get with all other companies ;) I shall keep you posted on my adventures... Eg the fit and style!!

This is a upholstery fabric... The green hasn't shown well BUT this is going to be a great half MAN apron!! I think I'm gonna add 2 different kinds of pockets... Give myself a slight challenge!!

So that's the first of my many Christmas makes for 2012... I will no doubt be abuzz with plenty more, Lets hope I can finish a few, and not just fill my sewing room with more UFO's!!

XoXoXoX

WoW just WoW.....

Hello there Peeps...

I have not abandoned my blog, Just was taken over by Manchester there for a while. I have to say I am very much in love with the place.. It has the best buzz about it. I was so taken over by the buzz of it all I forgot to take my camera out of my bag most days.. So I would like to say this is a photo filled post but hey, it's just my wildly words to stir up the imagination!!!!

We were so lucky to be in Manchester for the Christmas lights switch on!!! It was busy busy and to be honest we ended up leaving early but the boys really enjoyed it. Like I say the buzz is out of this world!!

We also went to Legoland..... Fab for the boys BUT if you ever go find a money off coupon some where!!!! That being said the boys did love it. (The family ticket was £54.... The year membership was £97!!!!)

Now peeps I have to say after living in Derry for so long I was like a lost lamb in the Traford Centre!!! Has anyone been there???? It is so so so HUGE!!!! This is a pic of a little part just walking through it a walk way you might say!!

And more walk through....
Look at Frazer, A Christmas tree mummy!!!!
Do you see the marble seats...

I have to say this was the cutest thing ever, BIG bears singing and moving the boys LOVE LOVE LOVED it.... (as did I to be honest the kiddy in me still lives on!)

This is a shot from inside the Traford centre.... It was CHRISTMAS already in there, can you tell I'm in love? It is a very spend spend spend enviroment, BUT I loved it all the same there were so many inspirational windows to look in, me and the boys done nothing but smile whilst there!!

On the way home we discovered a Ice Ice rink.... Selfridges too!!! I can't wait till the boys are old enough I love the rink!!!

Well that's the photo's this time round!! not many I feel I should have taken heaps more but hey we were to busy having fun!!

*********

The flight home was as good as the one on the way there..... I am oh so proud of my wee happy travellers!!!

Well I'm off I have to go see the Christmas craft fair in Guildhall. I have a couple more posts to get up but will get them up very soon... It's a battle of kids, housework, blogging and sewing!!! I'm not too sure who's winning at the min!!!

I hope everyone is having a fab day.... After all it is Friday!!!!

Manchester Part 2

Hello there, I may seem MIA but I am sewing away... And catching up on the never ending washing I have in my life!!

I thought I would take a quick break and have a wee ramble!!
I have been pretty slack on the photo taking whilst in Manchester, don't know why I'm normally clicking away!! Anyways here's a couple I thought I'd share...

Finn enjoying a stringy cheese and ham toastie!!

There's very little space for kids over in Manchester city centre, that being said there is a massive green patch that the boys love playing cars in. If you look real close you might just see then looking teeny tiny!!

I couldn't resist this photo opportunity.. Talk about not travelling light!!!

You can tell your back in Ireland when you have all this greenery and animals around!!! What a sunset it was to come home too!

Hope your all having a great Saturday.

I was going to wait and start writting when it arrived but it seems the mojo is back with evengance and I just want to type away!!

So where to begin huh.... It has been a hard 7 months, but I am now ready to dust myself off and march on with purpose. I feel that this has always been a positive blog and don't want my first post.... If any to be too down, so I may at some point tell you of my journey in the last few months but hey I might not.

Family tree Building....

I have a exciting post for you today...
Well exciting for me anyways, I had looked into doing my family tree in 2009, and it turns out a second cousin had already started it, That being said it was my family as I know oh so many people in the tree, but it was all coming going through the route of my Granny Mattie and her ancestors. I do love that I have a substantial head start, and it is very interesting to see where my Granny Mattie comes from, being mostly Portobello Edinburgh & Ayrshire Scotland, BUT I have definitely been bitten by the bug.

I have always known my Biological fathers name and have recently found out his D.O.B So after a little searching, I have managed to find is his birth certificate, this is now on it's way to me, I am super excited.... He's from Musselburgh Edinburgh, and I have even found out his parents names and they were married there too.

On my mums side I have more Portobello Edinburgh from my Biological grandfather & great grandmother.... But have to do some more research...

I am currently reading

Scottish Genealogy ~ Bruce Durie

@ home with your ancestors.com ~ Diane Marelli

Well I have no doubt I shall keep you informed.

Have a fantastic day

Park time!!

Hi there
So how is every one? We have been good this end.... The weather has been a little Crazy to say the least. But amoungst all the heavy showers in the last week there has been real sunshine, much to my joy, walking has begun..... Me and my friend Pauline took our boys to St Columbs park ....

It was just so lovely to be able to take the boys for a wee adventure, it's been so long! I really think that this park is one of the prettiest in Derry. There are fun play parks for all ages, a leisure centre for community sports, a hotel/conference centre and the park itself massive so it's great for a good walk, Finn loves to throw stones in the stream. I think there will be more photos for me to share, through the coming months!

Celebrations and vintage bags

So me and Mr Phew went for our Celebration dinner, it really was lovely, yummy food, no kids and no dishes.... I even managed to get a couple of vodkas in there too! It's just so nice to get a minute or a couple of hours like that, sometimes it's just all kids, also you always say we must go for a meal some time......when someone else buys the voucher (Pauline my friend gave it to us in a card) you have to use it!

So after our yummy meal we went to a wee bar,
check out the patch work seating cool huh!!

I was so pleased we got a little time to ourselves, but I also walked with a bit more of a spring in my step, as I got to take my vintage clutch out for a spin.... I mean look at her huh isn't she a bute!!

31 July 2010

it's ending tonight!!!!

hey there peep's
so i am about to share with you the trials and tribulation's i am having with regard's to my youngest son frazer..... to most people this may not seem like such a biggy but for me ...... i have to say that i am at the end of my tether.....

this lovely little menace is my wee Frazer..... he is 18month's old
and i am still breast feeding him and had planned to stop the feeding at 13month's

the same as his older brother Finn...

well folk's it turns out that Frazer is just so not up for that, every time i get near some kind of weaning, he catches a bug or teeth come through... otherwise just something comes up, i have decided that tonight is the night. i will be doing the controlled crying technique some may frown some may agree but for me i think i just have to get this done (and it seemed to work fine with Finn) and with there being 2 kid's i have to get it done asap as i want to try get back to some kind of normal pretty quick.... so this will be hard on Frazer but hard on everyone else too.....

i hope not to gurn to much over the next few day's..... and more realistically week's please do bear with me and if you fancy a leaving a happifying comment please do.... dare i say i feel that i may be in need of them !!!!!
