Alteration in progress blogtoberfest #16

 

Hey there peeps just a quicky this morning I have sewing class!!

 

I just wanted to show you my alteration in progress..

 

this is a formal dress, the dress cam with a train about a meter 1.5 too long!!!

 

It still needs work... I think tinkering is required, Ellen loves it though. So is heading over next week for the final fitting with heels!! I'm looking forward to it!!

 

anyway off to class I go!!

Magazine crushes!!! Blogtoberfest #15

Good morning everyone...

As you might have seen in the other post. I love to do pattern inspiration from magazines.. I mean who doesn't... I found this the other day in good housekeeping. LOVE LOVE LOVE it it's all very Victoria Beckham (last season but still!!)

Now on to the next crush.... Not in a magazine BUT......

 

 

In a "high street " shop.... So so simple but I had to get a couple of snaps,

 

 

 

This was a definite crush... I took lots more photos. This is defo on the to make list! I'm sure I can manage a pattern from scratch, and have heaps of jersey cotton to fit the bill.

 

Anyways short but sweet (very sweet for me!) I'm off to do some sewing and organising!

YumYum!!! Blogtoberfest #14

 

 

A blogging hat trick huh!!!

 

Me and the boys had a fab weekend, we used up all our organic fruit and veg from the visit to our friends farm.. Yummy yummy..

 

 

The boys have decided, after me struggling for quite some time that my veg soup is now something they will eat... I am very happy about this :) It's easy way to get them involved... And eating up their greens!!

 

It's like looking in a mirror when I look at Finn sometimes... We are just so similar, as one lady put it "you won't be able to leave him at the shops"! What a way to put it huh!!

 



Anyways heres our before....

I have to say it was a little bitter just after we cooked it BUT, the next day it was to die for!! YUM YUM.

The rest of our weekend was spent making Halloween decorations, Finn is getting pretty handy with a pair of scissors!!

Hey hey there....

 

Well I'm playing a little catch up!!!

 

 

Not just on the blogging front....

 

I had a bit of homework to do for my Accountancy course, we are starting with petty cash. I am enjoying the challenge. I hate maths.. I supposse hate is a strong word. I have a fear of them, I'e not looked at them since school!!

 



 

I have also found my fave fave cup... It was "lost" in the sewing room!! I am so happy to to have my hug mug back, it's huge & I bought it because star trek. That was me and my dads thing on a weekend!!

 

Did you ever loose a something silly, BUT very special?!?!?

OK OK... I have fallen behind!!

I have a sewing room floor!!!! Not only that I have order too. I have to say there is no before picture but that's only because shame isn't the word!!! I really had no sewing room floor. It was all very hectic. But now I have a lovely space for inspiration.. And a wealth of fabric I totally forgot I even had :)

 

 

What do you think of the dress above?!?!? I love it!!  It's the reason I bought the crushed velvet on the rails up there can't wait to get the confidence to sew with it!!!

I've caught up.... & a crochet begining Blogtoberfest #11

Do you see.....

It's the 11th and I'm on post 11, I have caught up!!!

Just wanted to show you my new crochet beginings...

 

 

This is called Caterines wheel it's a stitch I've never tried but it looks so yummy I have to give it a bash. Has anyone else used this stitch before?? I would love to hear about is or even see it!!



 

I found this tutorial on youtube it has a few parts, but looks to be the best around, it's late so I'll be having a go tomorrow..

My new addition... Blogtoberfest #10

I was given a bunch of these lovilies...

Anyways I just wanted to show you them in there new home... My much loved fire place, dried and in a jam jar! Who would have thought they'd look so at home.

Hello there peeps

 

Well.... The rain is back, and it's COLD!!

 

But really thats just code for go home, get the fire on and get those fuzzy socks on!!! And so I have listened to the said "code"

 

 

AAAhhhhh that's better...

 

 

Now that I am comfy, I can get on with my homework!

 

 

Today I was at my Accountancy course, I have to say I am enjoying my head working again. It's nice to have a challenge... I was always a sucker for buying new stationary too!

 

Well all that being said duty calls eg my boys and housework!

Alterations & organising Blogtoberfest #8

Good evening peeps..

 

I seem to have become a bit of a late nnight blogger... I say late night it's only 8.30pm, but I have been up since 7am!

 

Today was my sewing class, and I so wish I had more to show for it... That being say it is my good deed for the day. I have hemmed now 3 table cloths for Frazers nursery.. They have a colour table, this month is orange, They all have to take something in that is orange they are happy to "sleep" at the nursery for the month!

 

Here they are, well 2 of them.. The other is on my sewing table awaiting the last hem.. It seems a easy quick task but! Do not be under any false ellusions... This fabric... Nylon??? is a slippery nightmare it's been floded over twice just to make it that bit neater. I am happy to have helped but am glad I'm finished with it, and can go back to my lovely cotton!!!!

 

After sewing class I had arranged to meet with a friend who needed to have her daughters formal dress altered... She had ordered it online at a cost of £100 but when she go it the train was far to long, I would say by maybe just over a meter. I have pinned it...

 

 

 

What do you think??? She will be wearing diamante heels, These shoes were just for height. She didn't want to spend to much on the alteration. It is a waterfall hem line, I have to say I'm not really a fan!! Emma who is wearing the dress loves the alteration. I shall show you a before and after shot as this is just pinned at the moment!!

So on to my organising, I have no photos but I do have a link... I have bought 2 of these for £15 and am hoping to sort out the fabric stash in my sewing room. I also picked up these for linings and interfacing etc... I hope to have a very neat nook very soon, I think a week of careful planning and execution should do it... I don't think there will be a before shot but I look forward to showing you the after!!

A surprise knock at the door!!! Blogtoberfest #7

 

Hello there...

 

How is everyone?

It was a real nice day again today dry & warm too, I'm hoping for a hat-trick... We can live in hope!

 

 

This is a view of the boys chapel, I see it everyday walking the boys to school... So I though I'd share! It's St Eugines it is also the boys school!!

 

 

 

Anyway on to my very surprising evening, me and the boys were painting (we are preparing for haloween) Above is a egg try that will be lots of spiders!

This is gonna be streamers! I'm loving the £1 store, there are 30 sheets in this pack = Lots of streamers!!

 

So we are in full swing painting and then there was a knock at the door. It was one of my neighbours from accross the road. He is always very pleasnt and he also gives the boys £1 for sweeties.. I feel reluctant to take it.. Only because he does it everytime he sees us.. But he insists!! I save it for movie night (our friday night bonding session!) Anyway.... He says hi and then brings these from behind his back....

 

 

What a surprise is all I can say... Well that and thanx so much. What a nice thing to do. A lovely way to end the day. The flowers are now pride place in the kitchen on my table!
