For the love of FABRIC!!!!

Well hello there...
We have had a great day, it's been all about finding fab fabric, eating sausages (the boys!) and my sewing magazine coming in, the boys got to go to their wee playgroup too. Nap times were at a good time so, hoping for some knitting time later, as the boys might just go to bed earlier. We can but hope!

Now on to my Fabric finds....

I have had my eye on these flannel patterns for a while.... I love them they have such a vintage feel. And they were on sale! I will be using them to make fab pj's.

And these cottons WOW I love them, I think the boys will look brilliant in the Pants pattern when I have altered them... Can't wait to be honest, I think the will be very comfy and cute...

Also I got my sew mag this month.... Check out the free pattern I will be putting this in the to do make list. They also have a great section on hand stitching and a lovely wee read at the end for hats/headwear.

my nappy pouch

hey there well here it is frazer's nappy pouch, the pattern is from the lovely Lia over at Lia's craft journey and what a journey she is having at the mo... she's sold her first item, going to be featured on a blog somewhere's basically she's brill really go check her out she's defo worth a read!!!
so I've been at this all day i had to get it up I'm so frigging happy with it and i have surprised myself i done it in a afternoon whilst having 2 lovely toddler's at my feet!!!!

so as usual the breakfast table has become my sewing station well cutting station anyways can you see my mannequin to the top right & my ironing board to the top left!!!! it is a perfect space

this is my beloved brother sewing machine and it's sitting on my much loved horn hub sewing cabinet that i got for my birthday in November it's a god send or mark send he bought it!!!! i can now sew without fear of children wrecking my space!!!

so this is the finished pouch i used 1 blue fat quarter... which meant it was smaller than Lia's but i am meant to be stash busting!!! the lining is from my stash as well as all notion's, this didn't stop me buying the lovely outside fabric on Thursday from mission hall fabric's in the lovely craft village :) but it had a cause.... and i used it straight away so i hope that I'm still on track!!!!

i added a bit for the spine just to break it up and to coordinate the inside and out i reckon it turned out well.....

i also added 2 D clip's (which i took from a old set of curtain tie back's) to close it up as i have a Mary Poppins bag!!!!

this is the outside isn't the fabric to die for...... thanx mission hall :0)
it's from Robert Kaufman's new range

so yeh all in all i'm very happy with my accomplishment today..... as i said earlier i have very much showed my self that i have the ability and time when i really want too

and a very big thanx to Lia for sharing her lovely pouch

the blue monkey fabric is for Frazer..... he's a monkey!!!!! & Finn Adore's planes, boats, cars, airplanes i could go on but the brown seemed to work as it has all manner of automobiles

this is the first part of my creative space very nearly done!!!!! a pot stand and the hearts will soon be a wall hanging!!!!

14 April 2010

my creative space

hey there happy Thursday to you all!!!!
in my creative space this week i have a pot stand & love heart's which i hope to turn in to some sort of wall hanging...... i have used only stuff from my stash in a vague attempt to become a stash buster!!!!! this is following a theme that i have for my granny Mattie she is moving and i have decided to make some pretty thing's for her new kitchen...... i have already made her a tea cozy..... i plan to make her a tea towel too so she has the full set :]

i also wanted to show off my new tag's in the photo too cool huh !!!!!!

i am being very presumptuous that i will have time for one project never mind 2 with my boy's in toe but i also plan to at least cut out the pattern for a nappy/change of clothes pouch the lovely and very talented Lia has designed and put up a tutorial for i am very much looking forward to this as i can use it for both kid's not just now but also for when i am toilet training and beyond so thanx a million Lia you are a star....
check out more creative spaces here get inspired!!!!

my creative space*** tea cozy done!!

OK so it took 2 - 3 week's but here she is......
my granny Mattie's tea cozy!!!!! i have to say i am oh so happy with the way it turned out i used all the materials/fabrics from my stash as a part in my stash busting (lite...... lite as i cannot help but buy stuff from second hand shops..... i reckon it's OK just as i don't buy from the fabric shop here!!!! it sounds like I'm trying to convince myself here and your right i am!!!!)

i got the pattern from sew magazine which i might add is fab if you like crafting it's filled with many types of goodies & comes with the templates too!!!!!

i reckon my granny will be very happy with it & i hope she will enjoy it in her new house :]

my creative space

so in my creative space is granny Mattie's tea cosy....... still yes still but i took forever to find just the right quote, i love my granny a lot and it took forever to find . this one hit's the nail on the head as we both collect ornamental elephant's and i will never forget what she has done for me she has been a consistent rock for me someone i can share my everything with...... she gave me my first bra, tough me to knit & crochet, gave me the freedom to feel and make my own mistake's without too much judgment!!!! i miss her very much and look forward to seeing her on my visit back home soon xxx

this is my quote finished my wee boy Frazer was having a bad night teething poor wee guy has 4 teeth coming through so not a happy camper, as i am still feeding him the only way to console him is breastfeeding well that and teething powder's, gel's & the blessed calpol!!!!! i seen this as a ideal photo opportunity. keep an eye to see the finished tea cosy it's pinned and ready to go!!!
