Well hello there
How is everyone?
I have had a fairly relaxing day today, me and the boys were out for a walk, as it was nice again. How happy are we that the sun is eventually rearing it's happy face?!? I managed to actually remember quite a few things on my list today... Well done I hear you say eh!! It was quite a feat for me as I forgot the bloody list running out the door!!! So I now have a printer with ink, which is most helpful! And I can now burn all the boys movies..... Again so glad I save their movies on the computer, they always scratch the discs!!

Anyways enough of the jibber jabber!!!!!

I have always been a thrifter but with Flea market finds I feel like I can share the excitement sad I know but it's the little things.... Plus kids do that to you. Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I have been still been shopping away but I have not been able to photograph much lately you know life and laundry and all that jazz!!!!

I found this dress just a couple of days ago..... I love it the style really suits me too. It's River Island but I got it for £3!

This is a Primark number that is begging to be altered. I am going to take the elastic waist out and make it a fitted LBD any suggestions?? Should it have buttons? A belt? Mr Phew thinks it looks like a nun's dress!!!

It is defo the lace that gets me for sure!!
That and the £1.50 price tag!

Now the 3 items in this photo were all in the same shop and cost just £6.
The skirt is just too cute really it is, the pattern is so simple too.
The Cardi has me written all over it I love stripes and gray seems to be a trend!!
The bag needs a better lining as it's basically plastic but I have some china silk in my stash...

It has summer time written all over it...

Today's creative space

Hello there dear lovely reader's, it has been a couple of week's since my last creative space, between life and laundry i have been taken over! But i hope to have gained some sort of order again!

This week i have got to show you the long awaited lace trim, it's for my granny Mattie's linen scarf. It's for her Xmas, Oh so happy with it, even if took forever!

This is lot's cotton cut and ready for sewing in to crayon roll's

And this, well this is all up-cycled bed sheet's, and is now a lovingly made quilt. It's for my granddad's 70th birthday. I will be following this tutorial to quilt it starting this weekend.

rummaging galore

hey there folk's i missed last week so i have lot's to show and a couple of thing's i can't nudge nudge wink wink Kathy if your reading!!!!!

as ever i have book's @ 10p each!!! looking forward to making some yummy cup cake's

i found these 3 lovely picture's in a basket filled with other picture's and when i seen they were £2.69

these are for friend's Xmas pressies the necklace @ £1.50 and the wire box @ 50p which will be filled with goodies

theses are fab and are for the upstairs bathroom.... and all for £4.00 good huh!!!!

i got a wee thermal top new for the winter nights when they come!!! a pair of Thomas the tank curtain's for finn's room and a duvet cover.....

this is also a duvet cover never used.... both will be up-cycled in to pj's for Xmas!!

this was a no brainer for a friend of mines Xmas pressies @1.99 and never used either!!!

my wee creative space

hey there folk's so another Thursday is about to rear it's head so another creative space id here yeh!!!!!
so this week is all about crochet....... why you may ask?!?!?!!?!? my beloved machine decided no more i need a service.... I'm 3 years old i feel neglected !!!! and so he should!!!!

so Finn's blanket is coming along nicely..... i am looking forward to getting this one done so i can start on frazer's...... i will be using a attic 24 pattern......

and my lace well my lace is going ace i'm loving it.... it was meant to be for my granny's scarf for her birthday BUT!!!! her birthday is on the 9th not the 29th thats my little cousins birthday oh well for Christmas this shall have to be!!!!

back to rummaging :)

so it's been a few week's since my last showing of find's so here they are !!!!!!

this first pic is all free and from my mother-in law jean..... lot's of blankets and material and a fab Halloween decoration.... looking forward to that this year Finn and frazer will love it this year!!!!!

this is last weeks rummage and was more than ACE!!!!! a big ball of wool and it feel's lush..... a picture that made my heart skip a beat.... when i seen it was only a quid.... i was all the more happy i would have paid more too!!!! the peach fabric is printed 100% cotton and i do love the colour, also i got a couple of bit's or organza a good week!!!!

this week was OK... i got lovely blue fleece i will use for the boys pj bottom's a lovely table runner (but my heart is hankering for a few Dollie's they are no where to be seen) and 2x plastic knitting needle's!!!

all in all the mother-in law is a star and the rummaging shop's have been kind!!!!!

my creative space 23.06.10

it has been 3 weeks since my last creative space
chez Traci has been a hard work of late
BUT
i am pleased to say that i am feeling like i have a grip on things again
and have found my blogging fingers and the crafty one within is looking to burst out and do stuff!!!!!!

this is my pt 1 of my sew along over at kelly's
i have fallen behind but am now rearing to go!!!!

she has been kind enough to share this rescued pattern

i am hoping when i get the whole of upstairs tidied up i find this again..... as i appear to have misplaced it :( wish me luck!!!!!

rummaging again!!!

this week has been very fruitful in the pre-loved world!!!

i am a one for boxes and this one will hold may a treasure in my sewing-room!!! and the cushion cover has already been taken apart i plan to make vintage style brooches with it...

these place mats are "TO DIE FOR" i love 'em.... I'm thinking maybe a bag?!?!?!

the picture with frame at the back was such a find so me, very much looking forward to "finding" my picture hook's bet their in a safe place!!! the wool and material will be put to good use plans are in the making!!!

and this lovely bundle was a gift from my mother-in-law just in time for my baby quilt plans so happy as Finn's will be blue and Frazer's will be red so i now have the backing for both!!!!

virtual rummage

this week my rummaging was all on the web
eBay to be precise

i bought these vintage patterns from one seller for only £5.60 + p&p
and i have more en-route mmmmm

i also got these lot of embroidery hoop's & magnetic count on eBay from another seller for £4.50 + p&p

i have just taken on the utmost challenge you must go check it out

i can now be a vintage queen in modern fabric and maybe the odd old vintage too and now even with plain fabric's i can be creative too with embroidery or at least try!!!#

there's a few pattern's & hoop's i shall be putting up for swaps soon so watch this space if you fancy!!

my utmost challenge 22/05/10

so i have been in training for this utmost challenge for about a month now and i have decided to take the leap.....

this is tiff's guide lines this also pic link's you to her page too so you can go check here out... tiff is holding a fab weekend get together for crafters alike i so with i live a bit closer but i think the uk is just a bit to far away!!!!

so here i am my friend's think i am crazy but my blog friend's i hope will be more positive!!!!

i have got a few guide lines for myself whilst on this year long journey.....

• i will only buy clothes from thrift shop's
• i will buy "tool's" eg fabric, notion's, wool, patterns &book's to aid me used if i can
• shoe's i feel will be a bit of both!!
• i will try to do some kid's clothes too
• i shall try to always buy thrifty good's for the house
  

i shall stand by these rules for the next 12 months
and when i say try i will i mean with all my might BUT if my hoover breaks no harm to you buy i'll be buying a new one kid's are messy creatures!!!!!

i hope that my utmost challenge will aid me is self teaching seamstresness!!!! wish me luck!!!

1st quilt ever - cutting

MY FIRST EVER QUILT

wow so i have faced the fear...... and cut the fabric, i have changed a couple of fabric's the gray didn't work and the flowers are very cute....

all in all the cutting has gone well i feel one is slightly to small, and i stupidly cut the selvage off with most definite hindsight..... shouldn't have done that moron hope it's OK
oh well mustn't dwell!!!!

mmmm bag love......

do you remember me wittering on about some sewing curved project,
i had a Saturday off from the kid's well i say off, 4 hours but that's mega for me especially if I'm sewing aaahhhh happiness was all over my face.

i took my class here at mission hall
with the lovely orna....

this is the back of my new fav bag...
i adore the fabric.....

as you can see from this pic I've had a accident with it already....
i was so excited about showing it off i took it out with me the other day, and it got a very slight whole in it from my buggy wheels :( but i beleive the way to look at it is that i can now either embellish it OR do more curve piecing practice

the handles are patched but not curved

i am mega proud of this and plan to do even more....

mmmmmm rummaging :)))

my library is a firm fav for me when it comes to book's and sanity....
but i do love when i see that particular shelve with sale written on it!!!!!

this week i bought 2 fiction book's not read fiction recently... it's been sewing sewing sewing book's of late but i feel it's time to "loose myself" in some good old fiction!!!
also there was a cross stitch book at 15p each i can see my little book shelve collapsing soon!!!!

also the blue cord underneath is a whopping 7 yard's and all for £4.... with little boys it's just the ticket!!! ps if you know of any good patterns for boy's that would suit the fabric then please do leave a comment :))))

my lovely vintage pattern arrived a few days ago then the "special " fabric arrived..... i cut some of it last night and then realized the main fabric i had in mind just would not do! so i rushed out today and got a poly-cotton, not exactly what i wanted but as close as i could get at my local fabric shop... i managed to get the bias binding i was looking for so a good trip out!!!

so off i go another post then on to some sewing :)

this week is all about knitting needles

i got 1 pair in a second had shop and all the rest are from eBay total £15 may seem a lot but there are 37 pairs there!!! there are plastic one's long ones short ones metal ones circular one's..... i plan to send a bunch to my granny Mattie too :))))

tunic "2" dress done!!!!

so here it was my tunic from a second hand shop it was in my creative space last week
after much indecision i went for buttericks no. b4386

i am happy with the way it turned out.... even if it is super short and minus the pockets!!! i will use this pattern again easy to do and in good time.... well when the kids let you get on that is!!!

i even got the pattern at the sides to match too :))))

this is my first solo zip also... i normally wait till i get to my sewing class or go visit them and ask for help!!! i used these tutorials for help
so this is the start of my month challenge intrigued???

my creative space 06.05.10

hey there pep's!!!
so i have a few things going on this week!!!!!
yes the same as last week OK!!!! but i did get my sewing-room done....
and my dress yes my tunic to dress worked out well ( i shall post it later today) the zip isn't perfect but it's all about practice and practice i shall.... i have joined the 12 month challenge this month and it's all about zips!!! the little pouch well i never got that started but will attempt it this week!

also i have joined the 1st quilt ever now this is to be a labor of love so is a long term project.....

this fabric will be a knitting needle & crochet hook roll for me and granny mattie

i also plan to use old tee's as pj bottoms for Frazer!!!

good oll rummage

i had a great week..... many a great find was found......

i actually collect elephant's but these were too cute to walk past and at 50p.....

it is claimed i a am a Pat Butcher in training!!!!!! huh the cheek anyways these are a new pair of dangly's to add to my collection!!!!! - £2.49

all three of these will be in my creative space in the next2-3 week's!!!!
the skull's are for a bear from either toys to sew or cute doll's both book's i have to say i treasure
the linen will be used for this tutorial and this one too if there's enough!!
the stripey tee will be a bunny :)
all three were 80p each

these book's cost £1.30 from my lovely library they have a shelve on sale all the time so i keep a ever vigilant eye there for fab book's it's been a god send so far and Finn get's to choose too the Neil diamond is for granny Mattie...

these shoes are to die for and for and at £4.50 you can't knock em!!!!!
so happy they were my size and maybe worn once!!!!!

and last but not least....... my new home for wool crochet hook's etc is this lovely bag with zip closure keep's the kid's away..... £2.50 this is just until i get the time to start this lovely bag
the train was bought this week too for 75p but is already missing a tender!!!!
